Orso Grigio - San Candido, Italy 

After a couple of hours spent browsing in the clean and tidy San Candido, we've been attracted by the hotel. The restaurant menu was inviting and offered a four-courses menu for €. 38, or different combinations of its parts for proportional prices. The hall with its fireplace and armchairs was cosy and a nice staff took care of our reservation. The owner personally welcomed us later and let us into the dining room, which appeared clean, comfortable and quiet as well. The atmosphere was informal, but in no way inelegant. Everybody spoke softly and lights were relaxing without being sombre. The hors d'oeuvre and salad buffet were varied and abundant. First and main courses were excellent, although not that abundant , which I noted being promptly offered more. Cheese selection and sweet were very good and the wine list was really first rate as regards local products (Sanct Valentin, Lowengang, Cornell among excellent others). Being not far accomodated in our holiday home, we'll unlikely have the opportunity to test hotel's rooms, but we'll remember with pleasure the evening spent there and would like to go again for dining.

Ho soggiornato in questo Hotel durante le mie vacanze, è situato in posizione centrale e ciò mi è risultato molto comodo per qualunque necessità,è tutto a portata di mano......il fiore all'occhiello dell'albergo è ,oltre alla disponobilità del Sig. Franz, la cucina molto curata dello chef Michael che rivisita piatti della tradizione tirolese ed alpina in modo veramente particolare e sempre suadente.... ottima carta dei vini e Degustazioni settimanali con l'inneffabile Patron Fanz.... le camere sono curate ed il servizio preciso..... magari fatevi dare le camere che danno sul Gruppo dei Baranci godrete di uno spettacolo della natura per tutto il vosto soggiorno ....consigliato!
