Got a suite for 145 Euro at the airport. This hotel is v old and it's a bit like staying in a museum with lovely old halls, rooms and artifacts. It is not air conditioned, but with 20 foot ceilings and fans it's OK. The decor & furniture are old and a bit worn, but for us was part of the charm. It takes you back to the splendor of previous eras - our suite was huge and very graceful.
Staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast as fine.
It is in a good location for sightseeing and getting to and from the airport.
Don't stay if you can only survive on modern style hotels.

We booked this hotel for our one night in Pisa through hotels.com before departing back to the UK. My husband said it was the best we stayed in during our trip to Italy and it certainly has a great colonial charm.
The rooms were large and the decor of the hotel very appealing. The downsides for me was the lack of AC in July (large fan instead) meant that I had a sticky nights sleep. We also got woken up at 7am by the loudest noise ever outside (street cleaner?) The breakfast was very good with a large selection of cereal, pate and pastries. They even had some gluten-free goodies which is great for a coeliac like myself.
There is a roof terrace which you can have drinks on and this was beautiful. We ordered a bottle of prosecco for 14 Euros and they brought it up in an ice bucket with crisps and things. It was very romantic late at night.
Pisa is a stop-off kind-of town and this is a great hotel to stop in. Yes it is a bit shabby but far superior to an identikit Travelodge. Plus it only cost 50 pounds for two so no complaints there.
