Hotel Astor Saint-Honore - Paris, France 

This was our first visit to Paris and we stayed in the Astor for 3 nights. The staff were friendly and attentive, spoke very good English and nothing seemed too much trouble. Dennis, the Concierge, was fantastic; his knowledge of Paris and his ability to obtain a taxi from nowhere was superb. On the downside, we found the room quite small (an 'Astor' room) and we only had a shower. Had we been staying for longer, we would have requested a room change as we do like to have a soak! The shower was good both for power and temperature however, there was nowhere to put your soap or shampoo etc. A small point but annoying none the less! The location seemed perfect for us. Most places just a short walk and a Metro station (St. Augustin) nearby. The location was quiet; we slept with our window open and heard nothing. The buffet breakfast was reasonable though not outstanding. Prices in the bar are not the cheapest. Room service was very fast and the housekeeping staff, friendly.
