Domaine de l'Albatros - Mouans-Sartoux, France 

I stayed in this hotel for one night only, and had an excellent price from venere dot com (50 euros with no breakfast included). friendly staff, very clean and spacious room, VERY quiet location. The pictures on their web site are an accurate description of the hotel. The hotel is conveniently located about 15-20 minutes away from Cannes, so it's a great location for someone who wants to visit the lively but often chaotic coast while having a quiet and not far base in the hills. Make sure you visit Gourdon, a really nice little town in the hills, not far from here. The only thing I really didn't like about the hotel, they close down the swimming poor early at night and they re-open it only after 9AM. but otherwise a very positive stay and I would be back again.

It's a very easy conclusion after my stay at Quality Hotel de l'Albatros. This is a inexpensive and hackneyed property with poor service from their staff. We booked a junior suite from the Choice Hotels in Scandinavia for around 35? /night exl. breakfast. Great price - but after all upon arrival the hotel said it was a mistake (but we had that information in our written confirmation) so we got a standard room for the same price. As compensation we should have a dinner on the house with wine, but the restaurant was full so we didn't got any dinner. Strange, but I didn't care so much. We went to a restaurant in Mouans Sartoux and it was a great experience instead. The pool are nice, the surroundings and the hotel atmosphere are nothing special - but the hotel is given good value for the money and just around the corner you had the Riviera and the beautiful town of Saint Paul de Vence - don't miss this place. Its just lovely and one of the best places I have been to.
