Tonic Vieux Port - Marseille, France 

Though at first enterence into the room it looked spacious and modern, a big dissapointment was the bathroom, which agin looked modern with jacuzzi but.....the big but is there were two shower heads, and whilst you were able to set one of them to work the tap itself was not working, it was difficult to switch between the shower heads. As a guest you had to leave the key at the reception every time, which in a way infringes on your liberty of coming and going. The location is excellent. I did not find this hotel to have a friendly feel towards the solo traveller, i guess it was more business people orientated rather than for tourists only. Lacked the personal touch orf other hotels. Too expensive as well in my opinion.

Stayed here in July 2007, room ok, modern, clean, size ok & great location - but totally impersonal. A functional hotel, nothing special & expensive at the price. Our room had no outlook (side of hotel), it was noisy - but not not as noisy as being on the port side - with the non-stop traffic. There are "style bars" popping up everywhere in France, & this hotel is like one of those.... but a hotel !!... quite stylish, new but It lacks something! IHaving stayed at other hotels in the wonderful city of Marseille during previous visits, there is much better value & more personalised service on the port - eg the Mascotte Vieux Port or the Aliz? Hotel.
