A modern, chic hotel in beige and dark wood. We were met in the car park by a charming Dutchman, who showed us to the secure underground car park and then took our luggage to the room. Surrounded by parkland and within walking distance of the centre, the hotel is attractively and conveniently situated.
The staff in reception and in the bar and restaurant were young, friendly, enthusiastic and good!
The room was large, comfortable, a bit austere with lots of wood but with a very comfortable large bed. There was a balcony, overlooking pond and park with chairs and a table. The bathroom, separated by two sliding glass screens from the main room, was well-equipped with a good big bath and a walk-in shower with overhead and hand-held nozzles. A small grouch about the toiletries: one bar of soap between wash-basin, shower and bath must count as stingy. Ditto the single tube of shampoo and shower gel in a room for two at 260 Euros/night! The towels were big though.
A late lunch of club sandwiches in the bar was tasty and cheerfully served. The Hotel Restaurant;- Le Jeu de Paume was suberb, but not cheap.
We skipped breakfast at 20Euros for juice, hot drink and bakery goods.
