De la Paix - Beaune, France     

Worth stopping in Beaune when heading south. The owner of the hotel was charming and very helpful. No English spoken. We had a twin room right at top of building in the attic. The owner helped carry bags both ways. If staying ask for room on back as front is rather noisy with traffic. Well appointed and comfortable rooms. Breakfast good value for money. Reserve car parking space before leaving UK. Would stay there again and perhaps explore the very pretty Beaune. Hotel within easy reach of restaurants which is good as hotel does not do dinner.

I was very pleased with this room. The room was large as was the bathroom (by French standards). The bathroom was clean. The staff was very helpful, even allowing us to store luggage for a day. It's close to the main sights in downtown Beaune and it's also close to free parking. Some small caveats. There's internet access, but it's only one computer for the place. Also, there's no elevator. Overall, though, I would definitely recommend the hotel.
