We went to check out SA and its riverwalk and since the hyatt grand was unavailable we chose the next closest hyatt. It was clean and upscale environment. Parking lot is well lit and there is always a spot available. We arrived late on a thursday evening and the bed was incredibly relaxing as well as the couch. We had come from eating at Mi Tierra cafe and had left overs so the refrigerator was convenient. There are not alot of channels on the TV maybe 25 or so but there was the option to order movies at $15 a pop. The 42 in plasma was attached to a swiveler so it rotated from couch to bed easy. Everything was clean with the exception of some hair left in the tub from a previous guest. Bathroom was cramped, we showered with door open. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was your typical bagels, yogurt, cereal, freshly sliced melon and cantelope, bananas, apples, milk, OJ, coffee, & tea. If your in the mood for something warm you can order from the kitchen or there is a cafe inside as well (similar to a starbucks). We like to visit different hotels but the Hyatt has definetly left an imprint and if we are unable to stay at the Hyatt Grand again, we will be back.

The hotel itself was very nice -- clean, great breakfast deal, very friendly & helpful staff -- but the location was not what I expected. It's along a very pretty part of the Riverwalk, but it is not convenient to the tourist attractions by way of the Riverwalk. It's just enough removed from the other hotels & restaurants that I didn't feel comfortable walking back to the hotel after dark. The free parking is nice, but I had to use my car to get around in the evening which meant being charged to park at other locations. But if you're looking for a nice, modern, kid-friendly hotel, this is a good pick.

Very nice spacious room. Staff wes very accomodating, responding to our many questions on transportation and restaurants. Loved the location on the Riverwalk - away from all the crowds, and nice and quiet, but close enough to walk to the more commercial area in just a couple of minutes. Plumbing was weird in the shower - took forever to get hot water and then it was way too hot - an ordeal getting it set just right

FYI this hotel is NOT on the part of the Riverwalk where all of the restaurants and shops are, but since we checked it out on the map before we booked, we knew this and were not disappointed. If you are looking to be right in the main Riverwalk area, look elsewhere. The walk to the Riverwalk area isn't very far if you don't mind a little stroll. I, personally, liked it very much. Getting there was part of the fun. We walked to the Alamo, as well. There is a very nice, scenic bike/jogging trail right at the back door of the hotel that ties into the Riverwalk area. The free breakfast consisted of Starbucks coffee, fresh fruit (cantaloupe, honey dew melon, pineapple and segmented grapefruit), cereal, toast, bagels, oatmeal, milk and juice. The hotel was quiet, neat and clean. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and had very large closets. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Overall a great stay. I would defiantly stay there again.
