Le Royal details: Located in the centre of Annecy and just 5 minutes from the train station, Le Royal is composed of 52 air-conditioned apartments (studios or suites).

Both the suite apartments and studio apartments have fully equipped kitchens and satellite TV. The refurbished building dates back to 1852, but each flat has a modern, contemporary style.

There is a conference room available, and you can enjoy breakfast in the salon or on the terrace looking out across the square. Services include laundry, massages and the delivery of hot meals. Le Royal has limited parking available at an additional cost.

Our building looks onto the flowering parc de l´Evêché on one side, on the other side you see a beautiful interior courtyard. The former "Hôtel d´Angleterre" welcomed famous guests like Queen Marie-Amélie, Queen Victoria and Napoléon III in 1852. The medley of tradition, modern equipment and friendly service convinces guests from all over the world.

Le Royal was an excellent choice for our family with 2 young kids. It had the space and peacefullness we needed, yet it is so central and within walking distance to everything in Annecy. Annecy is a great holiday destination for families with kids - there are large safe playgrounds, one is very close to the hotel. The lovely lake with a minature train and boat rides are within walking distance. The minature train takes you to the other side of the lake where there is a swimming pool. There is a market on Sunday mornings in Annecy. Just be warned that the banks are closed on Mondays, so we had to exchange travellers cheques at a small change bureau. The hotel staff was so friendly and helpfull, we decided to stay another night because of the lovely peacefull, relaxed atmosphere in Annecy. The hotel is clean and everything was perfect, and it was very convenient to have a kitchen in our suite. The breakfasts are lovely, and it was so nice to sit on the patio overlooking Annecy and have birds around us that picked up the bread crumbs. We definitely want to return to Annecy!
