Best Western Hotel Drei Raben - Graz, Austria 

Check in quick and easy, excellent English spoken. Twin room at the front of the hotel overlooking the main road, but scarcely any noise from the traffic unless you listened hard for it - certainly nothing to stop you sleeping! Bed nice and comfortable, room also at comfortable temperature. Breakfast buffet had a very good choice, and unlike many hotels the coffee was drinkable! Checkout was handly very well as always. It is an excellent hotel which while ten minutes walk from the Old Town is also only about five minutes walk from the station, and has tram routes outside the door. Will definitely stay there again.

I was very unimpressed with this hotel, based on the reviews it had. There was a dull 70's looking reception, with a sort of an equally dull receptionist to match. The carpets on the 3rd floor were dirty and stained, the whole place had a rather funny smell about it. I opened my room and I confess that it must be the worst "Best Western" that I ever stayed in. Each hotel is known for its charm and character, well this had none - the bathroom stunk (although clean) the room with its sort of whitewashed walls and old furniture didn't look very pleasant and it was small. I wish I had stayed next to the Hbf at the Ibis for around the same price. I paid 59EUR per night and stayed two nights. The breakfast the next morning was dire. No fruit salad left, no ham left, no hot food left, the yoghurts had gone warm, no bread for making toast left... Basically there was everything set out, but nothing much left - a waitress casually came to and fro, not replacing anything. I found some bread, cheese and a warm yoghurt - oh and I managed to get some orange juice (just)... Stay here at your own risk, it wasn't my idea of a clean and comfortable hotel. P.S reception closes at 12 midnight and doesnt reopen until 6am, keep that in mind if you need to arrive late or leave early.
