I've been staying at this hotel for a few years now for business at the airport. Unfortunately I don't have a choice with the booking otherwise I would stay somewhere else. When I first started coming here it was ok. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the service was good and the general feel of the place was of a high standard, but it's just slipped and kept slipping rapidly since then. The rooms are a disgrace, with things broken like tv remotes covered in sellotape and fittings in the bathroom either missing or hanging off. The matresses are well past their life span with lumps and dips all over the place. You can still see that it used to be of a good standard with the quality of the furniture and little touches like speakers in the bathroom but they very rarely work now. I believe some of the rooms have now been refurbished but I'm told no more will be done until 2009. From the outside it really does not look like a nice hotel. All prefab blocks and dull grey in colour. The reception staff are always different every time I stay as opposed to when I first started staying there when I was often recognised and even had my name remembered sometimes. The only saving grace for this hotel is the restaurant both in the evening and at breakfast (I only stay midweek) as the food is good and so is the service. The ladies at breakfast time have been there for a few years now and know a bit about service. Their experience really does show. Other than that there is nothing else good about this hotel and it is basically resting on it's laurels with almost guarenteed custom from the oil industry. I do sometimes get put up in the Speedbird across the road which I think is a much nicer experience.

Room was large in size but needed to be refurbished. a cupboard fixed to the wall covered a hole in the wall where i assume an ironing board was attached. mattress had a bow in it and it was uncomfortable for my wife and i to get any sleep especially as we had a very early flight the next morning. Food was average, nothing special. This hotel needs to be renovated and reconditioned in order to make the best of its perfect location to the airport.
