We checked in in the late afternoon, well after check in time. It was over an hour before they were willing to give us keys/rooms. That would be annoying enough, but they spent the time trying to sell us on an "upgrade" to an executive floor, in which case we we could get into our rooms right away. I really don't appreciate the hard sell, and I certainly don't expect it when paying the rate this hotel charges. The rooms were fine, but I certainly won't stay here again. For about the same price, I'd recommend the Intercontinental ( right across the street ), or the Westin ( down the block a bit ). There seemed to be a constant parade of white american's "taking possesion" of guatemalan baby's in the lobby. Its a bit disconcerting, so at least be aware you'll see lots of that if you stay here.

I was here on business and had a very good stay at this hotel. I'm finicky about cleanliness and had no problems with this hotel - my room and the public areas were spotless. I was on a higher floor and heard street noise only one night out of seven, but people travelling with me stayed on lower floors were bothered by noise. There was plenty of room to spread out. The rooms appeared updated when I compare them to the photos on this website. The breakfast buffet was delicious and it was luxurious to sit in a sunlit open-air clean restaurant area. This was included in the room rate. I peeked at the fancier Intercontinental Hotel and the Westin Hotel on the next block - their lobbies are more luxurious, if you like that kind of thing, but this hotel met all my needs quite nicely.
