We spent two nights at Bishops Inn and would not stay there again. The hotel is in the process of renovating. Workers started working on the courtyard outside our room at 7 a.m. One of our rooms did not have a properly functioning shower head. The staff said it was impossible to change rooms, because the entire hotel was full. There were only about 6 cars in the parking lot and it was clear to us that the hotel was virtually empty. That staff member said the only empty rooms were more expensive ones, with ocean views. She refused to relocate the other guests to one of those rooms without an additional fee. The next day, a new staff person was on duty, and that person moved our friends to a different room. That room had a functioning shower. The hotel says it is "ocean front" but you have to cross several busy streets to get to the waterfront, and then you end up in an unsafe area where you ought not to walk at night. The nice part of the beach is not within walking distance. There are no decent restaurants close by. Service at the hotel was nonexistent. The only good point of the hotel is that it is convenient to the airport.
