I booked 2 rooms 1 for my husband and I and 1 for my elderly Aunt. We were visiting another Aunt who lived in Davenport a few miles away. I picked another hotel nearby but was called to change my reservation as the other was closed for remodeling. I should have researched my decision better. We checked in a little after 10pm and couldn't even go into the lobby. I had to stand outside and talk to the clerk through bullet proof glass... what does that tell you? He wanted my elderly Aunt to get out of the car to show an id as I had to do even though I had booked and paid for the rooms and had my confirmation email and number. The clerk was obviously not happy to be doing the job and explained that he was actually the night auditor and was training someone who was no where in sight. We got to our rooms and immediately I was disgusted. It was about 100 degrees in the room because the air was not on. I took the tattered bedspread and threw it in a corner and then washed my hands. The very cheap blanket underneath was stained and had tears and burnholes in it. The carpet was just as bad. They did have HBO but few other channels. The next evening we came back again to a 100 degree plus room temp. because they had turned the air off. The bed was made by housekeeping and there were 2 clean (I think) bath towels left by the sink but that was about it. The nightstand was obviously not wiped off and it didn't even look like they had vacuumed. There was no plasitc bag in either of the 2 small waste bins. The coffee pot was not cleaned out either. We did not go to the "breakfast" but my Aunt said there was only cornflakes, cheerios and 1 last donut anyway at 8am. The 3rd day we went to the pool. It was dirty and there were many "water bugs" swimming on the surface. We had to keep moving our table because they were trimming the palms and the debris kept flying at us. The other clientele seemed to be truck drivers and day laborers. There were 2 that kept coming out by the pool yelling at someone over a cell phone. I definitly would not recommend this place if you have children. I killed more bugs in my room than I have in my life. There was mold in the corners of the bathroom too. I only wish I had taken pictures of the filth. The back corridors to the office were a spider laiden tunnel. Upon checkout the clerk was not apologetic at all at my concerns. For $80 a night I didn't expect much but certainly more than what I got. NEVER AGAIN! There are some really nice places less than 5 miles away in Kissimee. I will look there next year.
