We booked 2 rooms here during Oktoberfest, and it did not disappoint in the least. Although it's not centrally located within easy walking distance to much, it's a really quick underground ride, with the stop about 2 blocks from the hotel. If you're ever there for Oktoberfest, it's the U line that goes straight to the festivities, so you can't beat that convenience. The rooms were some of the nicest that I've stayed in, and I've stayed in quite a few nice hotels. They have every amenity that you could want, extremely comfortable beds in spacious rooms with good views of the city. Very nice, large bathrooms and showers as well. It was the perfect place to crash after an ungodly number of litres of delicious German beer. The front desk was extremely kind and efficient. The breakfast buffet was very good as wel, with a huge selection of everything from croissants to sushi. Not knowing what to expect from some of the earlier reviews I had read on the hotel, I was very pleasantly surprised. The only bad experience that I had (only loosely related to the hotel) was that after far too many beers and going up the wrong staircase coming off the underground, I managed to get lost all 3 nights going back to the hotel, as everything in the area looks the same. I'm pretty sure that the streets are all named the same thing as well (see picture). Anyways, don't hesitate to book this hotel next time you're in Munich.

Staying in Munich at the time of the Oktoberfest for reasons other than sampling the beer , The SAB proved to be an excellent option. Far enough away from the 'happy' crowds not be bothered but close enough to access business neccesities. The reception was warm friendly and helpful , the room all that was required and the service good at all times. Concierge must have gone to a different training programme though , abrupt and rather condescending when asked for information.
