Grand Hyatt Denver details:
Location. Grand Hyatt Denver, located within eight blocks of the Lower Downtown Historical District, draws upon Denver's history and natural beauty for its design elements. The hotel is just two blocks from the 16th Street Mall and four blocks from the convention center. Those visiting the area on government business are seven blocks from the gold domed Capitol.
Hotel Features. The dignified lobby is anchored by a 20 foot sandstone fireplace and holds a gift shop and a morning coffee cafe, Mugs, that serves Starbucks coffee. Business travelers, attracted by the convenient location, may use the 24 hour franchise copy center. A rooftop "mini resort" offers an indoor pool and spa tub, outdoor tennis court, sundeck, running track, and full range of exercise equipment. The 147 seat restaurant, 1876, is named for the year that Colorado achieved statehood. Specializing in contemporary Western fare, this restaurant features a rustic mix of wrought iron, granite and cherry wood decor. Fireside Terrace serves cocktails, microbrews, light dishes and desserts adjacent to the lobby fireplace. Live music performs here each weekend.
Guestrooms. This 26 story hotel has 511 rooms with mountain and/or city views. Accommodations include Hyatt's signature mattresses, 250 thread count triple sheeting, down blankets, decorative throw, and an array of European pillows. Guestrooms include coffeemakers, cable television and Internet access for a fee.
Expert Tip. A hike to the 15th step located on the west side of the State Capitol building places visitors at 5,280 feet of elevation precisely one mile above sea level. Nameplates identify visible Rocky Mountain peaks within a 150 mile span.

We booked this room on Priceline through "name your own price", so we had no clue what hotel we would end up at. Overall we were very pleased with the Grand Hyatt. It is a very snazzy hotel, VERY clean, comfy beds, great bathroom, and awesome views. Although we didn't use them, we checked out the fitness room and pool area. They seemed really nice-although the outdoor hottub was out of order. I find it amusing and irritating that at plush hotels you have to pay for so many extras. They do not have free wi-fi, you have to purchase it for $9.99 a day. Valet parking is $26 a day, otherwise you can use the parking garage that is attached to the building, but be prepared to pay at least $7 every time you come and go. We are from a smaller city so we are not used to haivng to pay to park. The location is perfect for wandering around downtown. It's within walking distance of the 16th Street Mall, many restaurants and bars, and several other attractions.
Overall this hotel gets a thumbs up, I'm just glad I booked through priceline and only paid about $70 a night (plus parking and internet)!

I was worried about staying at this hyatt versus the new hyatt in town because the reviews seemed like the other one was nicer. This is not the case now. I stayed in a remodeled room and it is just as nice as the other hyatt except for the view. I stayed at the convention center Hyatt last Summer and both rooms seemed equal. Everything in the room was new including a flat screen TV. The hotel has a nice work out room, pool and tennis court. It is in a good location next to the 16th street mall and its about a 20 minute wall to the ballpark. The hotel staff was very nice and friendly except for valet who said that there wasnt any cheaper parking around. They charge $26/night. The surface lots next to the hotel during the weekend were $8.
I definitely recommend this hotel.
