Longhin - Maloja, Switzerland 

Begonnen hatte es schon bei der Reservation, der Service war unfreundlich, wir fühlten uns schon zum Zeitpunkt der Reservation nicht willkommen. Mangels Alternative (wir waren sieben Personen) mussten wir dieses Hotel buchen. Mit einem unguten Gefühl im Bauch. Als wir im Hotel ankamen, hatte die Besitzerin eines unserer Doppelzimmer bereits weitervermietet (andere Gäste verlängerten ihren Aufenthalt) und bot uns als Alternative ein Familienzimmer an. Als wir dies nicht akzeptieren wollten, beschimpfte uns die Besitzerin auf ganz üble Art und Weise. Das ist keine Schweizer Gastfreundschaft - ich als Schweizerin (und ebenfalls im Tourismus tätig) schäme mich zutiefst für einen solch unfreundlichen Service in unserem schönen Land. Was man fairerweise sagen muss: Die Zimmer sind ok, ebenso das Frühstück. Doch das mochte uns für das Erlebte nicht entschädigen.

Located at the beginning of the Engadin, in the town of Maloja, this is a mid-class and comfortable hotel for those who want to spend a weekend in this beautiful region saving lots of money staying about 15km far from Sankt Moritz. It is just on the regional street, very close to the departure of the cross-country runs but it also a very good point to reach the Corvatsch and the Sankt Moritz ski-resorts in about 10-15 mins of driving. The rooms are large and clean. The bathroom is tiny but functional with its plastic furnitures. There's a ski-dept outside. The staff is friendly and there's a large breakfast room where they serve a continental buffet with large choice of jams. I've just noticed some over-dated cookies into a basket. There's also a bar where they serve some fast food before supper. Overall this is a good choice if you are looking for an excellent Swiss value for money.
