I spent five days at this fine hotel. I picked this hotel because of its central location and reputation as a great hotel. It was an easy walk to Canada Day activities, Yaletown, theater, city library, etc. The staff did a fine job getting me into my room. The entire hotel staff from check-in to concierge to restaurant staff (hats off to Barry and Oliver) were pleasant and professional in handling my requests. My 16th floor suite and bathroom was comfortable, modern, spacious, quiet, and secure. The bed was most comfortable; I slept soundly. I loved the daily selection of Canadian papers with my buffet breakfast as well as the Wall Street Journal The fitness and outdoor pool areas were also a pleasant surprise although new construction was on-going and quite visible and noisy across the street. Earlier in my stay, the elevators were suprisingly quick, however, during the latter part of my stay, the wait time for an elevator to my room took over five minutes on several occasions. During my trip, I visited several of the other fine downtown hotels, but I'm glad I chose the Westin Grand. The streets are safe to walk and I enjoyed the buzz of this beautiful city, its small stores/shops, and its wonderfully diverse population and creative types. The price neared $300 US dollars per night, but it was worth it. If I come to Vancouver again, I'll once again visit the Grand Westin.

We stayed in the Westin Grand for 4 nights while visiting Vancouver in June '08. The deluxe corner suite is fantastic with kitchenette, living room, and separate bedroom. Bathroom is finished with tile and granite everything. Can't beat the Westin heavenly shower!
The hotel is fairly pricey, but you get what you pay for. The rooms are well kept and extremely clean. The bed was more comfortable than at home.
The lobby and common areas are beautiful. Underground parking was easily accessed, and the location directly on Robson street was great.
Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
