Perfect stay! We arrived earlier than expected, 5 hours before check in time, but they were so accomodating and actually had our room ready for us. I reserved a studio, but when we go to our room we found they had upgraded us to a king suite! Staff was very helpful with restaurant suggestions. Always friendly and said 'hi' everytime we passed through the lobby. Rooms look very recently refurbished. Even smelled like new carpet! We stayed on the second floor, and were told this was the "primo" floor because the ceilings are so tall because the ballroom is on the same floor. Room was spotless. Loved having a microwave and mini-fridge in the room. Only small inconvenience was that the room was loud from the hallway. Not the hotel's fault that girlscouts were screaming through the hall all night, but the rooms didn't seem to be very well sound insulated. I really would consider this hotel on the perimeter of the historic district rather than in it, but none the less it was very convenient. Took about 10 minutes to walk to River Street, about 8 to walk to City Market. We walked to the hotel from bars a few nights late into the evening, seemed pretty safe.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel May 15-18. We thought that this hotel was comfortable and relaxing. The people at the front desk were always friendly and very helpful when it came to suggestions for good places to eat. I thought that the front desk was more helpful than the concierge so we always asked their opinion on any information that we wanted. I also thought that it was a nice touch that they had apples and bananas in a basket near the elevators so that if you wanted a snack you could pick one up as you were leaving or returning to your room. We always try to stay at a hotel that serves a free continental breakfast and this one was over the top. The breakfast consisted of biscuits, bacon, sausage, donuts, English muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, grits, coffee, several types of juices, milk, and water. I am probably forgetting some things, but you get the point. The hotel also offered a breakfast on-the-go (at the front desk) if you were in a hurry and did not have time to stop and eat. I picked one up one morning and it had a muffin, an apple, a cereal bar and a bottle of water. The hotel was full to capacity the weekend that we stayed here, but they had more than enough food and never ran out. We were definitely impressed. In the afternoon they offered snacks such as trail mix or popcorn. They also served alcoholic beverages (for a charge). I thought that the room was very nice. We did not need anything extravagant because we would not be spending much time in the room-we wanted to do a lot of sightseeing. The room was clean and bigger than I thought it would be. We had a small refrigerator which was helpful for us to store drinks in. The bed was extremely comfortable and was just like they promised it would be. I never did hear outside noises even though Bay Street was right outside our window. The parking is pretty much valet, but there is a parking garage right across the street that has free parking (I think). We choose the valet because we felt our car would be safer. It never took more than a few minutes for us to get our car. Overall our experience in Savannah was one that we will never forget. When we go back to Savannah we will definitely stay at this hotel. It couldn’t have been in a better location. We only had to walk across the street to get to River Street and were within walking distance to many of the historic places we wanted to see.
