Just returned from a quick weekend trip down to Columbus, GA to go to the National Civil War Naval Museum and other Columbus attractions and decided to stay at this Marriott because of its unique location and price. I booked a room through the Marriott website and received a rate of $ 159.00 which included a deluxe room, breakfast for 4 at Houlihan's restaurant within the hotel and a $ 25.00 Visa gift card. We arrived early 11:30 a.m., and was able to check in our room. Because I'm a Marriott rewards member, I was given an upgraded room on the top floor where we had a very nice view of the Columbus Historic district and the river. What makes this particular Marriott unusual, is that it was built around a restored 1861 cotton mill and is a National Historic Landmark and it is very beautiful. The hotel is in a very nice location in the Columbus historic district. The staff was very efficient and nice and the room clean. Ate lunch and breakfast at Houlihan's restaurant which is located right in the hotel and enjoyed both meals. (The breakfast was part of our room package.)
Definitely recommend this hotel is going to be in the Columbus, GA area. Also, the National Civil War Naval Museum at Port Columbus is a gem. Highly recommend it for history buffs or families with children.

I just recently stayed at the Columbus Marriott while attending a conference. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were big and the bedding was perfect. I thought the pool area was nice, especially the covered area if you need to get out of the sun. If you get a room view of the downtown/river area it is beautiful, especially at night, but beware, every once in a while there will be train noise in the night. If you aren't a light sleeper like me, it will be fine. Recommend this place highly!
