Cannot understand how it got so many good reviews. Our stay began with our first room a two bedroom-urine on the toilet seat, spilled coffee on the kitchen table which we discovered when we tried to pick up the area guide and it was completely stuck to the table with dried coffee. Sheets on bed in one room had a HUGE grease stain-definitely had not been changed. We called the front desk and told them that we did not care if we got a one bedroom but we needed a different room. First response when we told them why was "well, we would have to charge for the two bedroom", nothing said about being sorry for the horribly unclean room. They did change our room to a different floor/room. Now on to second room-went to pick up phone and there was a huge glob of ketchup stuck to it, at least we think it was ketchup. The room had not been vacuumed in a long long time and that was evident. We stuck it out because we figured that if after two rooms this was the way it was we didn't have a choice-other hotels were booked. Believe me we tried. All of this for just over THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS PER NIGHT. And we stayed for four nights. The topping to our visit was that my husband emailed the HOTEL MANAGER since we were told he was unavailable. My husband outlined all of the above problems with two different rooms and explained that after the problem with cleanliness we would not even TRY the managers reception nor the breakfast. We emailed him while we were still staying there and not one response, NOTHING. That summed it up for us that not only was the hotel a dump but that he does not care. Imazing to us since we have stayed at Homewood Suites for years and have loved it and have written nothing but wonderful reviews. We were thankful that the Dept of Health was there on this visit. But unfortunately it seemed that watching who we believed to be the hotel manager with the Dept of Health personnel the last day of our visit seemed to be very friendly. Hopefully they found what we did. Be wary of this hotel.

The three of us (two adults and a teenager) stayed at the Homewood Suites just after the 4th of July. We were surprised to find there was construction out front for a new wing, but it didn't impact our stay (with the small exception that the driveway was blocked on one end). The room was somewhat smaller that other Homewoods I've stayed at, but we got a great rate online as a Hilton Hhonors Gold member. The free breakfast and evening happy hours, again, were not as good as other Homewoods, but it was nice to have the option to use either their pool or the one across the parking lot at the Hilton Garden Inn (note: there are pool towels between the pool and hot tub in the wooden closet on the deck). The teen was quite pleased with the pullout sofa...it was more of a hammock style, without the bar in the middle. We left a few dollars for a tip for housekeeping daily and were rewarded with clean dishes daily and adorable towel figures. We weren't impressed, however, with Universal Studios (except the Twister show) and decided to go to the Magic Kingdom, which is about a 30 minute drive away (a bit far). Because of our dissatisfaction with Universal, we are unlikely to stay here again, but it's a great, value-added option. We enjoyed our stay. p.s. If you have an even-numbered room, you will hear the freeway noise but can see fireworks from Universal.
