Sunny Hanoi Hotel - Hanoi, Vietnam 

I do NOT recommend anybody staying at this hotel. They are robbers. They charged me a lot more than the price they put on the invoice. I had a long argument with the hotel manager and showed him the invoice. But he cared less about the invoice. He told me they made an error in the invoice. Finally I gave up because I realized that it was impossible to talk to these rude, unethical, and unprofessional people. I ended up paying the price of 4-5 stars hotel for this crappy place. What an experience! My suggestion to those of you who consider booking this hotel: There are plenty of interesting things to do in Hanoi. If you stay at this hotel, you will get into troubles and waste your valuable time.

Have just returned from a holiday to Vietnam. Enjoyed most of our trip in this mainly beautiful country but, sadly not our stay at the Sunny Hotel. We KNEW it was inexpensive and KNEW we could not expect 5 star for the amount we paid but this hotel needs to be demolished. The staff were fairly friendly and helpful but none of them spoke English, so communication was difficult. I endorse the comments of the other reviewers. Our air conditioner didn't work properly and our fridge didn't work at all and when we investigated found that it wasn't plugged in because the plug didn't fit the socket! There was no safe in the room and the desk staff were not too keen about being responsible for safeguarding our valuables. Worst of all, on the way to the airport, my husband told me he'd seen at least SIX rats on the veranda outside the restaurant on the tenth floor. He didn't mention it during our stay because he knew what my reaction would have been - too true, I'd have been out of there quick-smart.
