After two weeks of "backpacker" hotels my travel companion left and I had one night on my own...my choice was the OMNI because it is so close to the airport for my 4:30 am flight check-in. When the taxi dropped me and the porters came out I breathed a deep sigh....how wonderful to be back in 5 stars! After the bags were delivered to my room I fell on the bed and it felt like I was in heaven. I ordered room service and it was prompt and delicious. Beautiful lobby, wonderful spa, great indoor swimming pool and gym...it was all top quality. At $110.00 per night it was the most expensive hotel of our two weeks but still seemed a real value compared to 5stars in other countries.

Booked the hotel around 2 weeks in advance thru wotif.com. When arriving in the hotel around 11:30 pm they told us: no reservation. Sorry. Nothing we can do. We showed them the printout. Same answer: your travel agent made a mistake. We have no reservation. Unfriendly. I asked them to call wotif. Declined. Asked to speak to the manager. Declined. Very unprofessional, very confrontational. Called wotif. Helpful lady offered to call the hotel and call me back. The hotel avoided the wotif call at first, finally after talking to wotif again the person did talk to wotif and then 'found' the reservation. Seems it is standard procedure at the hotel to overbook and when too many bookes guest show up to claim to have no rooms. And they dont lie well. Person next to us had booked a room and transfer from the airport. They picked him up with his name on the board (22 USD instead of 3 for a taxi) and then claimed that he does not have a reservation. Avoild of you plan to arrive later in the evening. Otherwise the hotel is ok, a bit worn. Coffeeshop is dark and looks like in a basement with low ceiling. Food is ok. You can do much better (Riverside Renaissance, Sofitel) for about the same price. But these hotels are 30-40 min from the airport and the Omni is only 10.
