When I checked in the lady told me that they were out of the room type I had reserved, but that she was upgrading me to a nicer room. The bathroom, though small, was updated and had nice amenities in a "washington monument" shaped box.. Read review

We expected great service for the price we paid for their New Year's Eve package. The customer service left much to be desired as hotel representatives were impolite and unhelpful. The rooms were extremely small and offered no more than a hotel such as the Holiday Inn or Super 8. They erroneously charged for items that we did not even purchase and went so far to not even offer complimentary parking.. Read review

The Hotel Washington is a good place to stay, the rooms aren't huge but we only wanted to sleep there. The bed was comfortable, the staff friendly and it was ideal for visiting the sites and handy for the Metro.. Read review

I was a little skeptical regarding the reviews but the price and the location was just too good. Cleanliness and the attention of the staff is very important to them (they've walked out of better hotels, trust me). The lobby is grand and opulant, as would be expected. The guest rooms (the suoites are probably fabulous) are a little worn but are clean. My family had double rooms on the fourth floor that overlooked 15th Street and the Treasury. You WILL have to wait 15-20 minutes for your car to arrive from the garage (parking in DC is lousy and the Washington shares their garage with the Willard, but on the evening before departing they requested the car be put in a spot that wouldn't be blocked in to Booked. The location is spectacular: The Mall, the Museums, the White House, etc. Old Ebbitt's Grille next door is a great place to lunch or dine (we did both) and the prices can't be beat.. Read review

After reading the on-line reviews, I was afraid to stay at the Hotel Washington, even though I had already booked a room for the June, 2006 ADA conference. The inside of the hotel is very nice, and the hotel staff is friendly and accomodating. The room was small, but anyone who has ever traveled in Europe knows that even these hotel rooms are bigger than many in Europe. The room was also very clean and tidy - the furniture is not "old" and ratty, and the comforters and sheets were in excellent condition. Granted, the bathroom is small - so small that I could not fully open the door without hitting the toilet. But the bathrooms are all marble, and very, very clean. Fresh towels and soap were left for me every day, and the bathtub/shower was larger than I expected. The last night of my stay, I thought I would visit the sky bar everyone seems to be raving about - it's not that great.. Read review

Hotel Washington is across the street from the White House, only 10 minutes from National Airport, and convenient to the Metrorail system. Two blocks from Metro Center 13th and F street.

The famous Old Town Trolley stop is also located right on Pennsylvania Ave outside the Hotel Washington.

Take ramp towards GW Parkway North. Merge onto George Washington Memorial Parkway N. Take I-395N/US-1 N exit towards Washington. Merge onto I-395N. Take the US-1N exit on the left. Merge onto US-1N. Stay straight to go onto 14th Street NW. Turn left onto Pennsylvania Avenue NW. Turn right onto 15th Street, NW. Turn right onto F Street to unload/park.

There was a lovely bar on the rooftop which was also nice since we didn't have to actually go anywhere or look for a place after a long day of walking!

It was a full or double bed, I didn't think hotels still had those! I was in my room to sleep and shower and didn't have a problem with either.

We decided on the hotel washington because of its location, boy were we sorry.

However after we checked in and got our key we lugged our luggage into the lift and down about three corridors to our room, only to find the key wouldnt work, my boyfriend went nback to reception and back up to finds the key didnt work and not only that but with all the noise we were making the door opened from the inside! We were trying to get into another couples room. We lugged all our stuff back down to reception to complain, he didnt seem too put out at all! We were given another room and assured it was 'lovely' much nicer room anyway, it was AWFUL. The carpet was filthy, couldnt walk in bare feet and the room was stiffling hot with no air-con. The bed was small and my pillow stank of B.

We booked this hotel for the great location.

They told us that there was an event in town and they basically allowed too many non-guests to park so there wasn't any room for guests who were staying at the hotel! It was literally a 45 minute ordeal just for parking. I asked to speak to the hotel manager but he rudely told us that "parking wasn't guaranteed" and there was nothing he could do about it. When we got to the hotel to check in they did not give us the right room. I forgot my toothbrush and asked the hotel if they could send one up to the room. To top it off the "acting " hotel manager was EXTREMELY RUDE! We asked him for the name of the hotel manager and he told us they didn't have one. After debating with him for a few minutes he finally gave us a card for the assistant manager.
