The hotel is trying to improve, but still have a long way to go.
Good things:
- the price
- location
- bathroom (not excelent, but ok)
- breakfast (not excelent, but ok)
Bad things:
- noisy (there is a party place just beside)
- scary neighboors (the guy who was staying in front of us looked like a drug dealer)
- no elevator (had to carry my bags to the third floor)
- general look of the room, which was dirty and didn´t look good.
I read some bad reviews just before leaving to USA and i was worried and i was regreting about not spending a few dollards more in another hotel....But it was excellent.
The lobby is really nice and the breakfast is really generous. The room is old, but it's huge and the toilet sparkly clean. The bed is confortable and the furniture are ok.
I higly recommend this place to everyone going to DC. Even, the staff is amazingly friendly.
The only bas point is that the subway is a 6-8 minutes walk from the hotel, but you can take a bus right at the corner.

I arrived at a small, cramped room. The furniture was dirty and scratched. The desk was broken. There were stains on the walls and carpeting; there were cigarette burns in the carpet. The room smelled like insecticide and cigarette smoke. I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I looked towards the toilet where "clean" hand towels were laying on top. On top of the hand towels was this 4 inch black cockroach waving its long antennae at me. I was disgusted. It scampered off before I could kill it. I left the light on so it would not come back. The next morning I was afraid to enter the bathroom. I wore my shoes to bed because every time I was afraid of stepping on something I should not. The morning I tried to check out the person behind the counter was sleeping. It took way longer then necessary for me to check-out because of their being so sleepy. I was going to stay two nights but of course changed my mind and made a reservation at the Days Inn.
