Howard Johnson Washington Dc - Washington, USA     

This property has a "cockroach" problem - especially in room 201. After noticing the problem of quarter size bugs we had to stay 2 more nights due to no other hotels available. Upon letting the management know about the problem they said - "we will give you one night free of a three night stay". Upon check out, the front desk manager attempted to charge the full amount. I had to insist that the front desk manager call the night manager in order to at least get one night free. Then after contacting Howard Johnson national for a full refund, I had to wait 4 weeks for the national customer manager to tell me - "No further refund". Might I add that I had to follow up with national 3 times - they never called me. So - stay away from this property at all costs. It will take years to get rid of this problem. I will never stay at another Howard Johnson property in my life........

It was a motel in a sparsely populated site alongside a very busy mai9n thoroughfare. No big deal if you come from a fairly big city. The rooms were clean. The key card often didn't work. No smells, no leaks, no drunks, no car window breakins. Extra length of stay was easily facilitated. I come from Manhattan, in NYC. Perhaps most of the writers are not used to an urban setting. I paid about $70 a night as part of the package. I rented a car, so i wasnt cab dependent. Or didnt have to walk to the subway. I would stay there again. There is a small wholesale area across the road. Good shopping. That's my story.
