Our 4 night stay began as we were welcomed into the hotel by staff and checked-in within 5 minutes. From that point on every request we made was met by an attentive and gracious staff member, eager to personally see that our needs were met. The linens were very high quality and the bed was perfect. The location is directly across from the White House, perfect for touring the sites, museums and monuments. The staff is exceptional including Rob and Annika at the Reception, Eric, John and Jack at the Concierge, Alex and Ruben, and Fredy and Luis at the Off the Record Bar located downstairs of the hotel. We stayed in the John Hay Suite overlooking the White House which was so elegantly decorated with fresh flowers, Bose CD radio, Italian linens and bath amenities and the most lovely turn down service each evening. Sometimes we'd return to have Evian face spritzers on our pillows or perfectly ripe apricots on our bed. The Housekeeping staff is superb and very creative! Room service each morning was a treat-- especially the fruit parfait (with homemade granola) and freshly baked pastries. We arrived back to the Hay Adams from an evening out to have this gorgeous rendition of our cake (which was a surprise for my husband) awaiting us in our room with the CD of our choice playing songs from our wedding in the background.. He loved having the slippers by the bed every evening when we returned from site seeing! The bathroom is huge, the bed was extra comfortable and we loved the neutral, traditional decor. Front desk staff and concierge were helpful and courteous.. Read review

My room a the H-A cost $50 more per night than my room at the Willard and the H-A room was much smaller than the rack room I had at the Willard. The H-A room and closet were so small my bags had to remain in sight in my room. My room was on the north side of the hotel near the top of the hotel, but each morning I was awakened about 6 a. I asked to be moved and was told that was not possible although there was a west facing room (away from the garbage bin) on my floor that was available. Stay at the Willard, spend the money you save on good meals at Oceanaire (close to the Willard) and enjoy both without the frustration of the H-A.. Read review
