I thought the location was excellent, very close to all that we wanted to see, White House, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Aquarium, Museum of Natural History. The breakfast buffet was really great, the kids asked to go every day. We didn't eat any other meals in the hotel.. Read review

I am so disappointed with my experience at the DC JW Marriott that I would not stay there again. The room was not thouroghly cleaned. There were dirty articles of clothing in the room from the previous guest. When brought to their attention, the guest service manager was slowto react and assign a new room (they were fully booked!!!). It took 3 telephone calls to have my room reassigned. I expected more from the JW brand. After all if I wanted thrift accomodations I could've booked motel 8.
Virtually everyone we came in contact with was gracious. The housekeeping staff greeted us warmly as we passed them in the hallway. The front desk, conceierge, and parking attendants were outstanding. The parking attendants worked diligently and quickly to retrieve our car in the midst of busy check in and check out time periods. The concierege provided up to date printed information about restaurants within walking distance to this hotel.
Coming from the midwest where people greet each other regularly, I was concerned that there would be a level of aloofness and disrespect that one finds in larger cities. We were so glad to find that this is a first class establishment which treats their patrons as such. Thank you Marriott--Great Job!!!
I really liked the hotel. It is located on Pennslyvania avenue and is close to the metro station and a lot of restaurants. You can see the Captiol building really well from the front of the hotel. The rooms are small but they have flat screen tvs in them. They also have a heated pool and spa which is really nice to go in after a long day. The hotel has a fitness room with a tv on some machines. They also have a restaurant which has a buffet breakfast. The buffet breakfast is wonderful. They have an omelette bar, waffle bar, hot breakfast bar, and a fruit bar. It is 50.00 dollars but if you book the room on a on line website you get the buffet breakfast for free. The hotel also has wireless internet for a fee of 9.95. I would recommend you stay at this hotel.
Everything about our stay was perfect as usual. I have stayed here about 6 times. My only complaint was the host in the Avenue Grille was very rude. That made our, otherwise fantastic, breakfast a little uncomfortable. Hopefully, that will be dealt with before my return and all will be perfect.
The location is great for boarding the Hop and Ride Bus and the Trolley Tours, as well as many other sightseeing expeditions. Tons of places to eat at all prices within walking distance and if you want to waste your time shopping, you can do that too within walking distance.
Great location, great staff (except for one bad host), great dining, great service, great rooms, good beds, and Starbucks in the lobby! What more could a couple of girls on a weekend away from home possibly want?
