In the middle of China Town, Red Roof Inn is in a great location. Only a block walk to a metro. Plenty of restaurants in the area. The hotel itself is okay. The website talks about onsite free parking, but thats "under renovation". On the United.com website thru which we booked the hotel, it states the hotel has roll away beds (we are a family of 5), nope they don't. The fitness room is "under renovation". Construction starts about 7am and you'll know when they start. If your looking for a very basic room to just lay your head (and you can sleep on anything), then this place will suit your needs. It was by far the least expensive of the hotels near the mall.

Desk staff was unimpressive when we checked in always busy and not helpful. No nice greeting Security lock on door was broken. Room was clean and comfortable. Lots of street noise on Saturday night. This hotel borders on a bad area, some vagrants and panhandlers, none that concerned me. Walking distance to many attractions. When checking bags at check out (to pick up later) were told they were out of identification tags, bags were placed in closet on "honor" system.
