BEST HOTEL I EVER STAYED IN Posted: Tue, Aug 04 2009

The Ritz Carlton in Arlington, Virginia was by far the best hotel I ever stayed in. The accomodations were beautiful, the hotel itself is beautiful, and the service impeccable. The hotel has a hallway that leads to a large, beautiful shopping mall, with it's own private door for re-entry into the hotel. The Metro, which we used to travel all over to see the sights, has a station right in front of the hotel. The doormen, reception and the concierge would all greet us by name and always with a smile. The Sunday brunch was beyond expectations, and the service was excellent. I would definitely stay here again.
We flew into Reagan National airport, took the metrorail two stops to Pentagon City. At the top of the esclator was the Ritz Charlton. The Ritz Charlton in Penagon City was excellent. We had 3 adults and three children on our trip. Unfortunely they do not have connecting rooms, so we had 1 adult and 1 child in each room, but they were all on the same floor. The rooms were excellent! Twice a day house keeping. I called and had the honor bar locked in all rooms and within an hour this was done. Didn't want the kids eating a $4 candy bar. The location of the hotel is perfect. The hotel is attached to a very nice mall that has a huge food court. One day for breakfast we ate in the hotel restaurant. For the six of us the bill was $160.00. Ouch. If your wanting a cheaper meal walk the extra 50 feet to the food court. Also the dc metrorail is right out the front door. The metro in dc is only way to get around. A 10 min metro ride and your at the national mall. The staff at the Ritz Charlton was excellent! They went above and beyond and any request or questions we had. I would recommend this hotel to anyone I know

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. All the staff was helpful and friendly. They really went above and beyond any other hotel I've used in the past. I would highly recommend any one visiting D.C. to stay here.
We stayed at the Ritz over Memorial Day wkend 2008. We were in town for Rolling Thunder. Let's just say as we parked our own Harley Davidsons and walked into the lobby heads were turning. They turned further when we proceeded to check in and hit the bar for a cocktail before taking the public transportation into the District. Turning enough that when I ordered and Oban on the rocks the Bartender felt it necessary to inform me (although not the gentlemen in GQ wear at the end of the bar who had just ordered the same drink) that it would be $25 a shot. Anyway, other than the looks down the nose by the patrons--the staff other than that one caveat were very accomodating we can't wait to stay again. Perhaps this time we'll get the opportunity to say "pardon me, do you have any grey poupon"
