A clean inexpensive place. Close to main tourist attractions in downtown. No hotel parking though. You leave car to valet guy and it takes some time to get it back. However, it was considerably faster than 40 min they say it would take. No fridges in the room. Overall, for the money paid, the value was great. As in many other places like that the air conditioner was bit noisy.

We enjoyed our stay at the Comfort Inn. The location was great, staff was very helpful, room was quiet and comfortable, breakfast was good and enjoyed the cookies and coffee provided in the lobby. We were able to do our laundry on site. My husband and I were extremely happy with our accomodations and after spending hours walking around Washington D.C.; we grateful to have a comfortable room to return to in the evening.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn for two nights in early June. When we arrived everything seemed fine but it soon changed. We had been in our room an hour or so when we had two other guests walked into our room. They had been given our room as well and had keys to get in. I called the front desk and all I got was a sorry. They didn’t seem to care and told me that guests had booked in advanced ours. We had also booked well in advance but that didn’t seem to matter and all we got was another sorry. When we left the hotel later that day and came back we found we couldn’t get into our room as they had deactivated our room key. This was fixed and the rest of the trip went without issue, but the whole first day left a bad experience in our minds. The hotel is about a 25min walking to the white house and other attractions; if you can find somewhere cheaper closer to this area I would do so.

When I arrived for check-in was told they had overbooked and they were sending me to another "comparable" hotel. They offered very little sympathy or excuse. I was in town for a convention and the Comfort Inn was walking distance. The "comparable" hotel was a run-down Howard Johnson 2 miles away in a very seedy part of town (read reviews of Ho_JO Union Station to get a sense). When the cab pulled into the parking lot there was a fight going on between young thugs and soon police were everywhere. The "staff" consisted of 1 young person in a small office behind 2 inches of bullet-proof glass. He was not very helpful except to advise me not to walk around in the area. The room was filthy and smelled of urine, and I was stuck there for the evening/night with nothing available to eat or drink. When I called the Comfort to express my shock at where they had sent me they once again were dismissive and said there was nothing they could do. I do not know what it is like to stay at the Comfort Inn, I wish I did. What I can say is that I cannot believe they would ever treat any customer like this. All I can do is try and spread the word in hopes that future potential customers will choose to stay elsewhere.

I’ve stayed at a number of DC hotels, but the staff at the Comfort Inn was even better than hotels that cost three times as much. Their manager is in the breakfast room every morning pouring coffee and talking to guest to make sure they’re having a good stay. He even gave us tips on site seeing, and where to eat along the way. It helps when you have a local giving you tips. The room was small, but VERY clean. We will definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.
