I stayed at this resort for a business conference and had a great time. The views of Lake Las Vegas are spectacular. The hotel offers a beautiful lobby and a great pool. The rooms are also very nice. There's a great little village within walking distance with restaurants, bars, shops, and a low-key casino. A refreshing break from the strip!

My girlfriends and I stayed at the resort last weekend and agree that it is a beautiful resort with great restaurants, d?cor, and pool areas. Unfortunately, we had a negative experience with the front desk staff at check-in. We had booked the reservation back in December but when we arrived to check in, we were told by staff person Courtney that our name was not in the “system.” Then she just looked at us as if we should just walk away. No offer for another room, no apology, no “here’s what we can do for you” spiel. We’re in Lake Las Vegas on a very busy weekend. Did she expect us to waltz next door to the Ritz Carlton? Camp out on the lawn? Drive 30 minutes back to the strip to look for another room 5 o’clock in the afternoon? We SUGGESTED that we go back to our car and BRING the print-out/proof of our reservation confirmation (parking lot was full so the walk was substantial), and she very curtly replied “not sure what difference it’ll make… You’re not in our system.” Again, she continued to look at us as if we should just walk away. My friend did retrieve the confirmation and brought it back to a different receptionist to assist us. She was a trainee, but she found that our reservation number was matched to a different person, and that other person had cancelled the reservation. Apparently, the resort had cancelled OUR reservation by mistake. The trainee had to request help from Courtney at this point to correct the matter. Courtney explained that there were a few rooms left, but we would have to pay a MUCH higher rate than what was quoted on our confirmation because the resort was full. When we told her this was unacceptable, she went to the back room to “consult with the manager” and returned to say that we would only have to pay $20 above the quoted rate. At this point (30 minutes later), we just wanted to get to our rooms, so we left it at that. We saw that on our final bill that they charged us the correct rate, but I still felt I needed to report this incident. One does not expect such unprofessionalism at a resort of this class. AND one does expect an apology for the inconvenience. Other notes on the resort… 1> The upper pool area is much quieter than the lower but the service is very slow. 2> The spa is wonderful and for the massage service, I’d recommend Mark. 3> Food at Rick’s Caf? is very good but again, the service is very slow. We waited 15 minutes before we were served water and a waiter came to take our drink orders. 4> Housekeeping was great and delivered all the extras requested right away. 5> Concierge desk was impossible to reach by phone, but in person, they were very helpful in getting dinner reservations for us on the strip.
