We are true blue Marriott people so that is why we stayed here. I wanted to try the JW but this was closer to my husbands work. Yes, the place is older but charming. We were upgraded to a room with a private hot tub, which we enjoyed once they turned the heat off. Good location. Went to Old Town, very disappointed unless you like junk, although a couple nice art gallaries. Very nice, big pool with a bar and food. The big mall is awesome, they have it all Nordstroms, Neimans, Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrell, etc. If you want a great place to eat go the the Ocean Club on the North Side and order the seafood tower, OMG , expensive and fancy but excellent.

We stayed at the Renaissance Scottsdale Resort for the final night of our 16-day fly-drive National Parks tour.
Arriving late-afternoon in temperatures over a hundred degrees we were not too concerned about the quality of our last night's accommodation, but were pleasantly surprised when we arrived and disappointed that we couldn't stay longer.
The Renaissance Scottsdale Resort is a sprawling resort designed in a Spanish style with extensive grounds
Our large room had a shady private patio that was perfect for sitting in the shade away from the scorching sun.
We didn't dine in the resort restaurant, but walked to the nearby Borgata Shopping Centre, where we had a delicious, but pricy, Italian meal.
We had to leave at 5:00am the following morning for the airport, but would have liked to have stayed longer to explore the Scottsdale and Phoenix area.
