I just loved it here, I was staying for free from a previous time share offer in which I received 3 free nights at this hotel. We checked in at about 2 in the morning (which was 4am for us - from Minnesota). The front desk clerk was an older gentelman, he was a little slow but efficient, he gave us perfect directions back on the freeway to a Denny's for some supper/breakfast. The room - just up in the elevator, and down the "outside" hallways that are overlooking the nice little pool (lots of sun chairs and tables to sit around - although we never did try the pool). Our room was about what I expected in appearance, the bathroom was very very small, in fact when you close the bathroom door it rubs against the toilet, had a clean enough and big enough bathtub, shower curtains were nice, and shower pressure and temperature were good. The housekeepers always gave us more towels, soaps, shampoo, ice bags, etc. each day while we were out and about exploring San Diego and Carlsbad. The bed was awesome, well actaully it was the bedding, very nice white down comforter and a cute red throw. So we were impressed so far with the lobby, staff, pool, and room. In the morning the complimentary breakfast is way better than I was expecting - hot potatoes, eggs (ok they were fake, flat, and suspicous), oatmeal, cereals, pastries, donuts, toast, bagels, fresh fruit, juices, Starbucks coffee, and one of the best muffins I have ever had - the staff was quick to refill everything as needed, which is often, the breakfast bar itself is very small, but they do have lots of tables and chairs, which are facing a nice big screen tv for watching the morning news. The staff was great with directions and recomendations to local favorites. Not much for restaurants real close by (but they share a parking lot with a great Japanese table side steak house called Benihahas), you can take a left out of the hotel, immediate right, down one block and you are at the ocean with very nice beaches - parallel with HWY 101 (the sand and water is not as pretty as i had hoped - but it is not the caribbean, so I was happy). There was always lots of surfers and beach goers, watching the surfers was great entertainment and even saw a couple of dolphins one night. Down Hwy. 101 we found lots of awesome shops, bars, and restaurants. Stay away from the Beach House in Encinitas. Everything runs along the ocean, so you have to parallel park or pray for a small lot at almost every place - so just park once a walk it. We loved the Leucadia bar about 7 miles south of Carlsbad on 101 - a dive, but a great place to talk to locals and just chill. OK, I am no longer talking about the Quality Inn and Suties so if anyone else wants more info on Carlsbad/San Diego I would be happy to tell you more.

I stayed here with my husband and our little Chihuahua. It is a pet friendly hotel and that is really cool, lots of nice dogs in the hallways.
The staff at the desk were nice and helpful.
We had other family also staying there and all our rooms were nice.
It was cool to hang out all together by the pool and chat and relax. It was also nice to be able to connect with them at the breakfast in a really natural and easy way.
Our room was spacious and clean and the bed was super comfortable. I thought it was very clean and nice.
Go to the Quail Botanical Gardens if you like that kind of thing, it is a beautiful garden.
