Also nearby is the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium which draws its share of music fans coming to The City for performances by top-name artists. The City's theater district is within one mile of the inn. Great area, the staff were so welcoming - I had my bag stolen on the street on my last day and the machine can heat water--so I was able to have hot instant noodle as dinner. Breakfasts were substantial. . Read review

Turn left on Gough Street (one block)

From Route 80 East:
Take NINTH Street exit; bear left on Harrison and make a right onto 9th Street
Stay in the 2 left lanes which turn into Hayes Street

From Route 101 NORTH:
Route 101 becomes Lombard Street
Proceed and turn RIGHT on Gough Street

Big bay windows, great common areas for meeting other guests and hotel had good vibe. Comfortable - I felt like I was at home, staff was lovely and helpful and friendly, we met some interesting travelers in the breakfast room. An excellent touch was the daily high tea.

Room was pretty hot and no elevator so carrying up a heavy bag was difficult.

Location close to the Civic Center and some rooms are a bit small. Near a bunch of excellent restaurants, they prepare electronic plug adaptor for international travelor so that I do not need to buy one.
