Stayed at Orchard Garden, Bush Street, for two nights in July 2008. Following comments from some Trip Advisor members, we requested high rooms at back of hotel to avoid street noise. The hotel allocated 1001 and 1002 which are the highest and rearmost rooms available. These were amazingly quiet! The rooms were very high quality and matched our requirements exactly. This was the only hotel out of six in North America that let us re-use our towels (many hotels have signs in the bathrooms that suggest you should re-use the towels to save the environment - this was the only one that didn't change the towels even though we hung them on the towel rail in every hotel expecting to reuse them). We used the hotel restaurant for breakfasts and were pleasantly surprised by quality of breakfast. Hotel is a resonably easy walk up from BART Montgomery Street station, so transfer to/from airport was comparatively easy using public transport. I walked to the tourist trap areas of Cannery Row and Pier 39 in 20 minutes from the hotel; Market Street is about 5 minutes. Would I stay again - yes!

We spent the last night of our vacation in California at the Orchard Garden Hotel in San Francisco. The hotel is considered Eco-friendly and not only are sustainable materials used throughout but also various containers for recycling paper, and plastic are located in the room. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The front desk was efficient. We had a cocktail in the lounge at Roots and the bartender was also very friendly. The doorman was so determined to make sure we got a Taxi to get us to dinner on time that he went down the street to hail one during rush hour. The room was clean, bright and quiet. We would definitely stay there again on the next trip into the city.

Everything about my stay at the Orchard Garden Hotel was perfect. I arrived for business with an associate of mine. Upon pulling up in the car, we were greeted by a doorman, who took our luggage and the keys. The front desk was fast and efficient. The helpful bellman had our bags to our rooms in a jif. After going out for dinner, I met a couple friends in the bar at Roots for a cocktail. The bartender was very friendly. He helpfully answered all of our questions about the city. My bed was extremely comfortable and the mattress was excellent. I got a great night's sleep. I also love the fact that the hotel is green and that they do whatever it takes to save energy and conserve water. I had the experience of dining at Roots for lunch the following day. The organic restaurant is excellent. I had a grilled cheese with tomato soup - yummy, yummy. I will definitely stay at the Orchard Garden on my next trip to the city and highly recommend it's convenient location.

Chose the Orchard Garden (after reading reviews on Trip Advisor) for a recent trip to SF. Excellent location, no road noise (we were on the ninth floor) and although the view wasn't great we were impressed with the cleanliness, helpful staff and reasonable breakfast. The Alamo / national car rental garage is easily within walking distance on Bush St. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends / family. Also recommend Sears for food! (just off Union Square)

The Orchard Garden is a small hotel with a clean decor that leans more towards modern, but a traditionalist would still feel comfortable in. It is a perfect location. You can even take Bart from the airport and ride to the Montgommery Station, walk 4 blocks and you're there. An oasis awaits. Enjoy!
