Located just 2 short blocks from the Powell St. BART station, the Metropolis could not be more convenient. The staff is friendly and helpful, and everything about the hotel's interior is clean and fresh. The one downside is the main entrance, which is on Turk St., not San Francisco's most glamorous vista. We got into the habit of walking out the back exit, cutting through the parking lot, which then sends you up Mason St. towards the friendlier edge of the Union Square District. The rooms are compact but comfortable. We thought it was a lot of value for a modest price.

The hotel is in a great location and we felt safe walking back to the hotel late at night. Its extremely close to Market Street, the tram and the shopping area. We found Jennifer who worked on the front desk extremely helpful and pleasant. She went above and beyond to make our stay more enjoyable. I would def recommend the Hotel Metropolis for a visit to San Fran.

Some of the staff were shocking & abrupt! The rooms are very small, but i was visiting SF for the experience not a hotel room.

Me and my friends were very impressed with this hotel. It was clean and well taken care of. The staff was very friendly. We got there a few hours before check in and I asked, just out of couriosity, if it was possible to check in early, the lady at the front desk said it wouldnt be a problem if thye had a room open that I had booked and they checked to see if they had a room open already and they did. The room was really nice and beds were very comfortable. The room itself is not very large, we didnt spend much time there so it didnt bother us, for some it might be a problem. The hotels location is not that great, there were a lot of bums. One of them even passed out on the sidewalk in front of our hotel. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay at the Metropolis and I will definately stay there again.
