Okay
Convenient, clean, perfectly adequate, cool bedspread.

My room was spotless and while tiny and on an airshaft, had nice and quirky touches in the furnishings--velvet bedspread, alligator chest on which the TV sat, pillows with beaded edges. It was safe, quiet, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the location can't be beat--an easy walk downtown and to the Powell St. BART station. Also, free internet (a friend staying at the nearby Hilton complained of an extra charge for connectivity there)--a plus. Breakfast was adequate but not gourmet--wouldn't expect more for the price. Would definitely recommend.

The Fitzgerald is a great place to stay! It is located in a very cool spot, close to lots of great restaurants, bars, shopping, chinatown, public transportation-everything! Our room was clean and extremely small (I couldn't close the front door with my boyfriend still in bed because the blankets would get stuck in the door...), but all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The door on the bathroom was a glass door with no curtain or blinds or anything, which made privacy impossible. We also had a leaky window during the heavier rain and had to stack towels in the window sill to keep the water from pouring in, down the wall. Still for the price, The Fitzgerald was amazing!

We had a great experience during our stay at the Hotel Fitzgerald. The room was comfortably furnished with a first class view and the staff was very helpful and friendly. WIth a convenient location and a reasonable price, I would recommend this hotel to anyone planning a for a short stay in San Francisco.

THE HOTEL'S PICTURES ON ALL WEB SITES AND IN HOTEL PUBLISITY BOOK DID NOT INCLUDE OUR ROOM,ONLY SHOWED LARGE BEAUTIFUL ROOMS WITH GRAND BATHROOMS. HOTEL DESCRIBES ITS ROOMS AS 'UNIQUE AND ELEGANT'OUR ROOM WAS NOTHING OF THE KIND,IT WAS SO SMALL WE COULD NOT BOTH WALK AROUND IT AT THE SAME TIME. IT CONTAINED, A SMALL DOUBLE BED(UP AGAINST THE WALL), FRIDGE, RADIO, SMALL UPRIGHT CHAIR AND A CHEST OF DRAWERS,AND A TV, NO WARDROBE JUST AN ALCOVE. WE COULD ONLY GET TO THE SHOWER IF WE CLOSED THE BATHROOM DOOR. THE HOTEL ADVERTISED LOTS OF SERVICES, WE SAW NONE AND WERE NOT ADVISED OF ANY. THE WINDOW IN OUR ROOM WAS VERY SMALL, WE COULD NOT GET TO IT AS THE CHEST OF DRAWERS WAS IN FRONT OF IT. NORE WERE WE ABLE TO CLOSE THE CURTAINS, THERE WAS NO AIR CONDITIONING, ONLY A SMALL FAN, WHICH HAD TO BE PLACED ON THE CHAIR NEAR THE DOOR, NEAREST PLUG. I GOT BADLY BITTEN BY BED BUGS, VERY ILL FOR TWO WEEKS AFTER RETURNING HOME. THE STAFF OFFERED US AN ALTERNATIVE ROOM, MORE BED BUGS, NO COMPENSATION, STAFF DID NOT SEEM BOTHERED. SAN FRANCISCO IS LOVELY AND WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANY ONE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE FITZGERALD. WE HAD SPENT THREE WEEKS IN USA TRAVELLING FROM LA TO SAN FRANSISCO,STAYING IN BEAUTIFUL HOTELS, WITH GREAT FACILITIES, THE FITZGERALD WAS THE MOST EXPENSIVE,MORE THAN IN LAS VEGAS, AND THE WORST HOTEL OF OUR STAY. A REALLY BAD END TO A GREAT HOLIDAY. HOLIDAY TAKEN SEPT 08.
