What Travellers Like

Great value, clean rooms, excellent service, the staff was exceptional. We would have preferred a coffeemaker in the room, but the coffee in the hotel restaurant was good, and there was a fast food place next door where you can get coffee, too. The price we paid was perfectly worth it, the room was freshly renovated the receptionists were friendly and helpful, and the location perfect for tourists who want to discover San Francisco at their own rhythm.. Read review

It was obvious to the lobby staff that we were flustered by what we had seen outside since they immediately told us we were 'safe' even before greeting us. The room we checked into wasn't great, so we changed and unlike other reviews, we changed to the Market St. Proximity to the tram/cable car and BART are BIG pluses for the Renoir. But the hotel's biggest asset is its staff, especially Martin (security guard). The staff are more than willing to assist and extremely courteous! Apart from some minor sleep interruptions (we were on the second floor) - we thoroughly enjoyed the location, room and ambiance!. Read review

We (= my wife and two teenage daughters) stayed at the Renoir Hotel three weeks ago and cannot complain about anything regarding the hotel: it was clean, the (mostly European) employees were helpful and friendly, and the hotel is located in a convenient part of downtown, near bus and subway lines that allow tourists to go just anywhere in the city, and we paid a substantial amount less than what we were offered at other hotels in Union Square. It can be a little loud at night and we were lucky to get a room away from Market Street. But we saw homeless all over the downtown area, from Union Square to the Cable Car station and along Market Street, even in front of the luxurious Clift Hotel where we went for drinks with friends staying at Ian Shrager's latest acquisition.. Wonderful location, this hotel is for city people are not scared of suburban atmosphere and refrigerator or vending machines do not work/or not filled not even able to get some watter.

Would have liked coffee/tea in the room and sofas coverings are too old for ahotel they need change.

Good location, easy walking distance to Union Square / downtown and the hotel staff was helpful. The room was remarkably very quiet.
