The employees at the front desk were kind, bent over backwards to help me, and were knowledgable about the city and transportation around San Diego. The hotel was clean and my room was always made up whenever I returned at the end of the day.. Read review

I was surprised by the amazing service and polite staff at this hotel. Upon entering our room, it was extremely clean, its smelled clean and was neatly arranged. Its location, however made that understandable.. Read review

The rooms had the best beds and amenities. Another plus was the Manager's reception Monday - Thursday. We loved the view of the city and the staff during the reception. We already booked rooms for a July vacation.. Read review

Used the Shuttle to transport us from the Airport (free). Bedrooms excellent, all of ours had a balcony. Bathrooms are small but this was not a problem for any of our group Continental Breakfast excellent. For $160 per room we found this hotel excellent value in comparison to some of its more "illustrious" neighbours.. Read review

The walls are a bit too thin and noise from neighboring rooms got to be a bit much at times, but for the most part it was okay.
I swore I'd write a review of the hotel because we had such a great experience. The rooms are spacious, clean, and nicely furnished with a refridgerator, coffee maker, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and suitcase stand. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel offers a decent continental breakfast with hot scrambled eggs (which until now I hadn't seen since I was a kid), but you can't beat a free meal. The location is perfectly situated between the Gaslamp District/Convention Center and Balboa Park. I would definitely recommend this hotel for its balance between low cost and amenities.
security and parking is a problem - Room is small Posted: Sat, Apr 11 2009

The parking garage is VERY tight and I would not receommend anyone with a full sized van or SUV attempt to park here. The room door had to be pushed/pulled shutr, or it would not latch closed. Bathroom countertop is 17" deep and 24" or so wide = no room for placing make up, shaving items, hair dryers, etc.
The hotel was clean, the staff were kind and helpful. the location was nice and close the hotel, but not in a particularly fabulous part of town (though within walking distance of a lot of fun stuff!). A great deal!
I chose this Holiday Inn since it was close to alot of different things to do. I hadn't seen my son (military) in almost a year. We were planning on a hotel that we could hang out at the pool and relax. They had a pool but it was empty due to remodeling, we didn't see anyone working on it. The price was fine, but the next time, I would pay more and go down closer to the harbor.
