It is north of San Diego, in the lovely, quiet, safe, pristine community of Rancho San Bernardo. The hotel is set back a block or so from the street and very quiet. There is adequate free parking on site, elevators, and lovely grounds. We were greeted by Reiko, a smiling beautiful young charmer, who seems to work about 18 hours each day and is always cheerful and helpful, offering maps and tourist information as well as rooms. Whoever was working at the front desk greeted us with a smile and pleasant comments each time we entered or left the hotel. The beds were comfortably firm, pillow top mattresses with soft, plump pillows. After the first night, the maid surmised that we preferred the bedspreads left off, and the top sheets not tucked in on the sides, and made up the beds accordingly. The bathroom was spacious, with a marble-topped counter. There were the usual amenities at first-class motels, such as hairdryer, iron and ironing board, clock radio, free high-speed internet access, large remote control color TV with cable, etc.. Elevators don't stay open long - as we went to our room and the front desk was very helpful. Furthermore the hairdryer worked well. . Read review

Nice pool area and excellent grounds behind the hotel for walks. Also front desk staff was fine - seemed a bit disorganized and the bathroom was very spacious. Breakfast was also great.
