My wife and I sayed at the Four Seasons over the Labor Day weekend. We had a wonderful time. The staff was great and very friendly. They remembered your name, your drinks and made us feel very welcome. Our room was large and very nicely appointed. The bathroom was large and had all the equipment. We played golf one afteroon and enjoyed the course. It was in very good condition, and the views were outstanding. We both played well that day which always helps. :-) Only drawback we noticed was there were many families with small kids. Eating breakfast was a bit noisy.

"This hotel offers the most stunning views of So. Cal's beautiful coast. The golf course is one of the most beautifuuly landscaped I have ever seen. The CA Bistro has an incredible Friday night Seafood buffet. The price is very reasonable, but make reservations...because a lot of locals come too. The 4 Seasons kids club took our kids down to the Lagoon to view crabs and other wildlife. The staff are extremely helpful & very friendly. "

We have spent many summer family vacations just north of San Digo. I love afternoons at Del Mar. The kids love the beach and my wife and daughters love the shopping. Our normal spot was the Sheraton Torrey Pines (now Hilton Torrey Pines)and we all liked hikes through the Torrey Pines Preserve. But as the Torrey Pines changed hands, it became harder and harder to get reservations. So, this Four Seasons met everyones needs: great rooms, business center, excellent room service and best of all, beach butler service at a quiet, beautiful. uncrowded beach. On our own, we discovered the litlle beach village of Encinatos. When we were there this past summer, it was the weekend of the 'Art Festival'. What a score: beautiful t-shirts, towels. It was a serendipitous meeting but we would go back in a minute. On the negative side, there are an awful lot of families with young kids, and the timing of the hotel tends toward early (8-10am). We got a few 9am knocks asking if we were ready for 'room cleaning.' All in all, a fabulous stay.

"on multiple occasions when we visited Four Seasons Aviara, we were overcharged & duplicated charged. This last vist, the server from California Bistro had the gulls to crossed out my husband's writing on the credit card slip & add in her own additional gratuity; in addition to the $25 cash tip I left her. When we confroned the hotel management, they claim to be ""dumbfounded"" & we were ""flagged""."

We were made to feel as second class guest because we could not stay in a 100g suite.
