We booked this Hotel through Tripadvisor web-site as usual and after choosing an advertised late deal "special offer " and submitting our credit details the price came back confirmed at more than wice that which we had agreed!! On querying this with the hotel we were told that internet prices change by the second and that the rate we had booked at had changed the instant we booked it and nothing could be done , unbelievable!! so had to pay because by the time we had queried it with anyone we could contact here was no rooms left anywhere else , and the only option we were given was to cancel.Have normally stayed at the Melia Granada and really liked it so thought we would give this newly aquired Melia Hotel a go, but never again ( it really does not live up to the Melia Chain name) . Very dated furnishings and no room air-con on so had to keep the window open all night in December as it was so stuffy and hot, consequently couldn't get any sleep both nights as the road outside is very noisy all night long. No toiletries supplied apart from a very basic hand wash .The breakfast was terrible stale bread and curled up ham and cheese ,coffee OK ,OJ watered down, not good when you can get decent food everywhere else you go. The staff were fine, very courteous and helpful, but I'm afraid they could not make up for the lack of everything else. Certainly at well over a hundred pounds a night we would not recommend it, vote with your feet and go somewhere else!! Altogether a bad experience!! S Kerr Liverpool
