My family of 3 stayed at this property for a Saturday night at the end of June. We booked at 1 bedroom suite for one night. We paid $37 to valet park our car, we probably could have found a spot for a little less money but after 4 hours in the car it really didn't seem worth it to us. (BTW, the price was going up to $42/night as of July) The only negative I have to say about the hotel was during checkin - there was one person checking people in and that was it. The check in wait was about 20 minutes. I think we were checking in during a shift change, but that is no excuse. The hotel had secure entry to the floors by use of key card. Our 1 bedroom suite was perfect for my husband and our 3 year old. The kitchenette was stocked with everything we could have needed to cook anything we could think of. Full size fridge, microwave, sink, stove and serving ware were all wonderful to have. The bathroom had 6 towels-I am always requesting extra towels so this was a great (and happy) suprise). The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. We needed to make a call to the front desk and now that I think of it that particular staff person wasn't the greatest either. A little on the rude side regarding answering our question. Breakfast was included with our room-hot and cold buffet. Breakfast attendent was very friendly. Assorted fresh fruit, cereal, juices, pastries, eggs, waffle station etc. It was also nice to be able to take some fresh fruit and coffee with us for our long car trip. Complimentary newspapers and LCD TV's all over the breakfast room. Our hotel room and all common areas were very clean. The hotel was in very close proximity to Reading Terminal Market - 6 short blocks to this wonderful emporium of Amish food/gifts, local food favs like cheesesteak etc and farmers market. A great place to walk around and to grab a meal. Upon checkout the wait wasn't as long and the valet attendent was excellent, offered us directions without us having to ask, moved cars out the way to accomodate us. Really great group of attendents at the valet! We would stay here again!

The location of this hotel is perfect - right across the street from City Hall and around the corner from many other hotels (two other Marriott properties, as well as the Four Seasons). You are within easy walking distance of most of the sights, shops and restaurants (except perhaps S. Philly). It is also very, very easy to reach from I-95 - although parking is difficult. As of 7/08, they are charging $42 per day for valet parking (the only option aside from finding a garage yourself), and the waits to retrieve/deposit your car can be very long. They advise you to call them 30 minutes prior to needing your car, but more often than not, nobody picked up the line, and the car wasn't brought around for 15-30 extra minutes. Rooms, breakfast, general service are average/above average - about what you would expect for a hotel in this price range.
