4This is one of the most impressive facilities to try to emulate the famous Biltmore in Miami. They succeed in Grandness but Fail in Service. The facility is very nice but the staff is Terrible! I am a handicapped traveler, cane not wheel chair, the stay started poorly and went downhill from there. It started when I pulled in to check in. Valet would not let me park under the awning to check-in like they have done from the Econolodges to the Fountainbleau in Miami. I was directed to park about 300 yards away from the check-in desk. Most of the walk was in the sun in 90 degree weather and I move at the speed of a slow turtle with each step being a new experience in pain. Once I get to the Reservation Desk, I am informed that I can't check in until after 3pm. They tell me to park in Guest Parking, because I was not checked in Valet would not park my car. Guest Parking is literally ¼ mile from the lobby, restaurants etc. No space available in the Handicapped space.
The highlights of the stay, excellent room service, Very clean nice rooms but the rooms can be a very long way from the elevators. They have birds in the lobby just like the Biltmore. The facility is too new to have mature trees. The Spa closed too early and could not provide a masseuse after 8pm.
Though the hotel is not outrageously expensive they are real big to nickel and dime the business traveler to death, including a $9 internet charge. I had planned to stay 2 days but left after 23 hours in the hotel. If you stay there be prepared to walk long distances from the hotel to the pool, convention center and golf course. The staff needs to treat their customers better.
Like so much of Orlando being it is mainly a façade of a nice hotel.
