Sheraton Studio City - Orlando, USA     

We stayed at this hotel last week for 4 nights. Got a really great deal on Priceline, $54/night. Checking-in was quick and the staff were friendly. Room was decent. The batteries in our remote control died and we left a note for the cleaning staff to change it and when we came back, everything was fixed and ready to use. Would recommend this hotel if you want a cheap and decent hotel near Universal. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Right across from Wet n' Wild water park. About a 5-7 min drive from the outlet mall.

We stayed at the Sheraton Studio City in late November/early December last year. The hotel reception staff was efficient although not overly friendly. The hotel rooms are accessed by the lifts in the centre of the building and the lifts are operated by using your room key, although this is a minor annoyance every time you get into the lifts it does make you overall feel a lot more secure. The hotel rooms are all spread around the outside of the building and are a standard hotel layout although it is a bit strange that the room gets wide as you get into the room due to the shape of the building. The hotel décor is in pale pastel colours that give a relaxed feel. The bathrooms are larger that other that I have stayed in on International Drive and the complimentary bath and shower products are all Pantene. The beds are typically comfortable for a Sheraton hotel and the back out curtains are excellent for keeping out the lights from International Drive. We did not use room service or the formal hotel restaurant although we did eat from the pool bar menu which uses the same kitchen and the food was excellent. The hotel does have a strange quirk in that the hotel bar situated off of the lobby is never open but there is a pool bar which was open and as expected it was more costly that other bars on International Drive but it is a hotel bar so this is no major shock. The bar is also a great place to meet two of the hotel characters. The first is Zeke who is one of the bartenders, Zeke is great he is a welcome break for the typical residents as he has never been to Disney or any of the other parks. The second is Johnny who has a local business and lives in the hotel from Monday to Friday, these two have a vast number of stories and thoughts and it is a great way to spend a few relaxing hours and to enjoy a pleasant Florida evening. The hotel as mentioned by many others is ideally placed for Universal and across the road from Wet ‘n’ Wild. The hotel is located between 2 of the I-4 junctions which makes getting to and from the Disney complex. Our typical journey time was 20minutes although I have been on International Drive during more busy periods of the year and the journey to Disney can be more likely to 30-40 minutes. The I-ride trolley stops outside the hotel and is great for travelling along International Drive especially in the evenings as it allows the drivers to have a break and relax with a beer or two. Overall, we had no complaints about the hotel or the staff and would definitely stay there again.
