4The Florida Hotel is located at one end of the Florida Mall in Orlando. The room was comfortable, clean and good sized. I was there for a convention, so I did not require a lot of amenities. Room service was good, and the servers were all polite and helpful. The front desk was well staffed, but the check-in time of 4 PM was inconveniently late. I had to store my bags, as the convention workshops started much earlier than that. There is no sundries shop in the hotel, as you presumably could shop in the mall, if you noticed you needed something before it closed at 9 PM. There is a little "Grab and Go" shop that has approximately one toothbrush and one ballpoint pen. The room was nicely quiet during the night, but there were spotlights that were trained on the windows from the ground, that lit the room up like daylight if you didn't close the drapes carefully. The room cost was quite high, but through the online company I got a better price than my cohorts at the convention. This was my second convention stay at the Florida Hotel. It was a pleasant experience.
