Our parents decided to celebrate their Wedding Anniversary in the quaint town of Mount Dora. They stayed at a B & B by the name of Heron Cay with an innkeeper by the name of Margie. They advised us they had a wonderful stay. To surprise them with a family celebration we searched for a location and researched how we could get them to the party?s location. We were quite happy to find that the Lake Side Inn offered a champagne brunch on Sundays and they could accommodate our party of 40 guests in one of their private rooms. We immediately booked the location. I started to search the web and found a few negative reviews and became concerned but went ahead with our plans. We hired a Hitch N? Time Horse and Carriage to pick them up at the B&B and give them a tour of Mount Dora and drop them off at the Lake Side Inn. Barb Turcyn the President of Hitch N? Time and the driver Kathy Smith really helped by keeping up the surprise, the Horse and Carriage gave us that old world charm. The Inn?s Catering Manager Betty Schou along with her staff helped to make this a very memorable occasion. The Lake Side Inn and surrounding grounds were picturesque and the private room was charming, and warm. The brunch was displayed nicely, and had a nice variety of choices including quiche, french toast, bacon, eggs benedict; fruit and mimosa. Every one in our party seemed to enjoy the old world charm, the friendly staff and the brunch. Our parents were quite surprised and loved the complete weekend Thank you all for helping us in making this occasion such a wonderful surprise.
