Arrived for a three night stay at Old Key West on July 7, 2008. Lobby is well appointed very friendly front desk staff. Was given building 18. We stayed in a studio as we chose the dining plan and didn't feel a need for the kitchen. It was a nice hotel with clean rooms, but I guess I just didn't feel the Disney Magic. My kids liked the pool and sand castle slide. If we go back to Disney, I'd probably try something in the heart of Disney World. We went to the Polynesian for Ohana dinner and loved everything about it, including the lobby, entertainment and dining options. .
I was impressed however with their quick response to my housekeeping request. My daughter peed the bed (oops) I called the front desk and within minutes new sheets and bedding were delivered. Of course I had to pull off the old stuff and re-make the new bed, but I didn't mind.
Overall, it aint bad, but Old Key West definitely falls short in terms of the overall disney experience.
