Hawthorn Suites Universal Orlando - Orlando, USA     

We (mom, dad, and young teen boy) stayed at this hotel for a week the end of June. Our room was clean and in working order. The room was attended to every day by the cleaning staff. While the breakfast buffet was a bit monotonous in its selection, it was far outweighed by its convenience. A suggestion to the hotel would be to open up a conference room for additional seating. We took advantage of the evening reception time to get soft drinks and snacks while at the pool. We even took advantage of the Wednesday evening dinner buffet. Food was so so, but after a tiring trip and being in the middle of a thunderstorm, it was a fine alternative. The pool area was clean and there were always fresh towels available. My husband and son even took advantage of the basketball court and I the fitness room. We also took advantage of the onsite laundry room to dry bathing suits. The staff was courteous and friendly. Biggest complaint was the wireless internet service, which they weren't able to correct most of the time. It was pretty much non-existent. Traffic in this area is also another issue. Can be extremely difficult to get on the main roads. Obviously, this isn't a hotel issue.

We stayed four days at this property and if I did not want to waste my vacation time, I would have sought out another hotel. The first night when pulling out the sleeper sofa, we found a bug crawling around. The cushions on the sofa had cigarette burns on them and this was suppose to be a non-smoking room. The bedroom rug had several large red stains on them. If you take the hotel shuttle to Disney, beware of being on the last ride coming back in the evening. It was extremely over crowded and unsafe especially for young children. Also, if you weren't paying attention, the shuttle driver would bypass your hotel. There are many other Hotel Suites nearby and would recommend looking elsewhere.
